Meet Averi Felder, a determined 15-year-old from Brookwood High School who’s taking the golf world by storm, one swing at a time. Now a sophomore on the varsity team, she’s traveled to different courses, endured the daily grind of back-to-back games, and learned the art of staying focused and mindful—a skill she finds helps both on the green and in daily life.

Join us as we dive into her answers and what’s next for this young talent!

How were you introduced to golf?

My mother introduced me to it. I was a bit skeptical at first, having never swung a club in my life, but she assured me that it was a great game to learn and would help me in life in the long term.

What do you love most about the sport?

Experiencing different courses as I go around and play.

How does golf challenge you the most?

Walking all day, then having to get up the next day and persevere through a game with a sore body.

What lessons has golf taught you?

Golf requires being present in the moment, focusing on your swing, and letting go of distractions. This mindfulness can improve your mental clarity and reduce stress in daily life.
